Drying Fish; Djupavik

Tim commented to me that the wind was blowing the drying fish around too much to get a clear photograph, inspiring me to walk down and shoot with a long enough exposure to make them really blurry.

That Place with the River...

After our crazy ascent into the clouds, that place where the river was emptying into the ocean was a rich stop for me. Unfortunately most of my film from there was destroyed by a light leak in one of my backs.
Oh well... Stories of the ones that got away. It'll definitely be on my place of must return to's.

The Sea - Reykjanes peninsular.

This one was on the Reykjanes peninsular near the hydrothermal power plan 8 mils west of Grindavik.

Tenacity

While we were shooting the abandoned ship Gardar I was drawn to this small patch of grass that had taken hold in a corroded piece of the hull. I wonder if it will survive the Icelandic winter?

Walkin' After Midnight....

The night I whacked my head and after our night in the bar in Isafjordur, I went out walking with Clay on one of his late night walkabouts. We shot all kinds of things, walked the harbor, pet a kitty and had some great conversation. With homage to Clay and his night shooting, I offer up a few snaps of the night.

It's a Horta ...

She is the mother of her race ! I found this smiling Horta on Earth, 66° 10 ' N 23° 20' W on Bolafjall.
As you can see, she wasn't making any hostile move and as a very logical creature, she decided to allow me to take this exclusive portrait.
No better place to be for a silicon-based life form ! No better place to explore for us ...going, where no photographer has gone before...
(well, at least, it was a yellow-dotted road...)
