Djupavik revisited

Well, at long, long last, my video from last year is finished and ready to be let out into the wild. (Note that this is not the advance version that some have seen - I've made several changes.) Rather than upload it to the blog however, I've put it in HD format on YouTube so that viewers have a better sense for the subtleties of Iceland. So crank up the speakers and take a look. All comments, good, bad, or volcanic, are welcome.

I know I couldn't possibly be so lucky as to have any of you join me again, but I have to put the offer out there. I'll be doing a similar version to this trip in August/September this year and would be honored to have any of you along again.

On the Road to Hvitserkur

Well there've not been any posts in over a week, so I dug up this pano for posting. The sun is blown out but it does give a sense of the wildness of the day. (I've got some good video from that day as well, but that's still in development...)

The Ghosts of Djupavik

I noticed that the wall of the old fish processing plant resembled a face, and could not resist photographing it. But it was not until I got home and processed my film did I realize that there was another "face" on the hull of the old ship, which watched me photograph his fellow ghost. Apparently trolls are not the only spirits in Iceland.
